A misplaced gym bag caused police to evacuate the facility for an hour on Thursday night.
Thursday, April 25, 2013, NYC: A “suspicious package” that prompted the evacuation of the Port Authority Bus Terminal on Thursday night turned out to be a misplaced gym bag, a police source said.
The scare started about 8:30 PM (ET) when someone reported seeing a man running away from a bag left near a gate on an upper floor of the Eighth Avenue terminal , the source said.
The busy terminal was immediately evacuated ny police, sending thousands of commuters into the street and suspending all servuce ina nd out of the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
