[flv:/flv/apb_missny.flv 600 440] Today at City Hall Mayor Bloomberg welcomed the twenty-two Miss New York contestants for a historic announcement. For the first time in history the 71 year old stage pageant is being held in New York City. The 2011 statewide event is “just one step away” from the Miss America Pageant, which will be held June 18 at Staten Island’s historic St. George Theatre.
The pageant has been a fixture in the upstate towns of Olean and Watertown, prior to running in Long Island and Albany. The St. George Theater as been chosen as the new, permanent venue of the annual event.
